Isle of Mull Oban Drumnadrochit Dochgarroch Inverness a place of respite for the seriously ill and their families Annemarie’s Ship

To provide that something different, that quality place.

To raise the funds to establish a charitably-run hotel ship to operate up and down the Caledonian Canal from Inverness to

Fort William and, weather permitting, out to the Isle of Mull.

The ship to be a place where all members of the family can get some benefit, not just the patient. The reality is that if the patient sees the family enjoying themselves they are also uplifted. Many patients just want life to continue as normally as possible, yet this is often very difficult to achieve.

Many GPs, medical staff and the staff of various organisations have spoken at length of the benefits of palliative care to patients, partners and families. Some have kindly offered letters of support for the project.

The facility would operate alongside the many impressive support services that already exist. Only patients, partners and immediate family members as recommended by referrals from GPs, Maggie's, Macmillan and all UK hospices would be eligible.

This project began as a resource for cancer sufferers as a result of the unfortunate experiences of one of the founders. However the scope has been widened to include referrals for all seriously ill patients whatever their illness.

Could you support this project? Your help would be gratefully appreciated by many. This could be their last family holiday. Please support our vision.

                  Many thanks
